The Big Fish Story: may 25th 2009 the day after my birthday i took my father in law down to exit 35 restarea on alligator alley. he is about to start his hepititus treatments and wanted one last fishing trip in the everglades. water temp low 80s, fishing from my boat toward the banks, he was cathing several buck bass and i hadnt had a bite. i throw on the trusty trick work (baby bass style) and throw to the bank, reel over one lilly pad and then another, then i hear an explosion on the top water rghit as my worm came off the second lillypad. at first thought it could be a gator, but soon relized it was i largemouth. it was the first big bass i had ever caught, but the best part was that i caught it fishin with the greatest fisherman you never heard of. rodney vester. get well soon buddy.
