The Big Fish Story:
My boyfriend, Toby Mougey, took me fishing at Moon Lake, a lake he grew up on for some catfishing. He had always told me that there were huge catfish in this lake and more definately the state record. I found out how true this was after my catch. I was using a frog for bait and fishing in the evening. He had just caught one that was 16lbs. Just as I was helping him rig up again, my bait alert started screaming and line was just tearing out. I grabbed a hold of the rod, 8' Berkley Glowstick, and set the hook. It felt absolutey huge! It started taking drag and was very hard to get up off the bottom. I fought this fish what seemed like forever. The fight lasted about 10 minutes or so. After we got it in the net, I realized how big this fish actually was. We put it on the scale and saw a whopping 42lbs 13oz. After we got it officially weighed, we found out it broke the state record by almost 9lbs, the old record for ND being 33lbs 4oz. I also found out that it is the 5th biggest state record in the United States for a channel catfish. I definately feel that the berkley line and rod made all of this possible. Big thanks to Berkley for making good product!

Lord a good channel cat. My question is does berkely recognize fish caught on a trot line or jug. A fella down here in Georgia caught a 103 pound flat head and the state will not recognize it as a state record even though trot lining and jugging is considered a sporting method of fishing in the state guide lines.
