On the last day of each month at 24:00 hours CST the five (5) top ranked anglers on the Abu Garcia® Leader-Board are named that month’s BerkleyBigFish Category Winners (5 winners each month). To earn their spot on the Abu Garcia® Leader-Board each of the five (5) monthly Category Winners had to have the highest point totals in their fish’s category. All of the monthly winners receive prize packages from the BerkleyBigFish sponsors (including an Abu Garcia® reel), are featured on the Winners page and are judged to determine who will become that month’s BerkleyBigFish Finalist. Hank Parker and his crew of BigFish connoisseurs select one (1) of the five (5) Category Winners each month to be crowned as a BerkleyBigFish Finalist. When making their selection, Hank and his crew take into account the point totals, the difficulty of the catches (given the geographic location) and the amount of keyboard grease put into the BigFish stories. Each monthly Finalist is given a 1-in-12 shot at the BerkleyBigFish Grand Prize. The BerkleyBigFish Grand Prize Winner will be chosen in January 2009 from the 12 BerkleyBigFish Monthly Finalists. 2. PRIZE/ODDS: GRAND PRIZE: One (1) Grand Prize winner and guest (who must also be 18 years of age or older) will receive a trip to fish with Hank Parker (exact location to be determined by Sponsor). Package includes: round-trip coach airfare from the closest major airport to winner’s primary residence to a major airport closest to fishing destination, round-trip airport/hotel transfers, 4-days/3-nights room accommodations (standard room, double occupancy, to be selected by Sponsor), 3 meals per day (breakfast, lunch, dinner), fishing equipment rental for four (4) days, UP TO $100 cash award to be used to purchase fishing license and a one (1) day fishing excursion with Hank Parker. If for any reason Hank Parker is not available for the day of fishing excursion that portion of the prize will be forfeited without compensation to winner. In the event winner resides within 250 miles of selected fishing destination, ground transportation will be substituted for airfare.
